(This program will be available to two students in Queensland each year in the future)Eligibility
To be considered for a TDF scholarship, athletes must meet the criteria outlined below:
Athletes MUST:
- be a minimum of 18 years of age
- be a currently registered member of Taekwondo Australia
- be minimum 1st Dan Kukkiwon
- have medalled at Queensland and/or Taekwondo Australia National Championships in their preferred discipline in 2010 and/or 2011
- abide by agreed rules and regulations set by TDF and affiliated organisations and reasonable expectations of Taekwondo Queensland in regard to behaviour and participation
- meet his/her own personal expenses while in Korea (transport, accommodation & meals – refer below for estimations regarding accommodation and meals)
Benefits
- Fully subsidised training and planning support (not including accommodation & meals)
- Accommodation & meals through TDF arranged facilities will cost no more than AUD $20.00 per day
- Fully subsidised physical training support
- Fully subsidised coaching support
Application
Athletes must submit an Expression of Interest including the following details:
Name
Date of Birth and Age
Address and Telephone Contact Details
Australian Next of Kin Name and Contact details
Evidence confirming that they meet all eligibility criteria
Details of taekwondo (and other) sporting achievements, in chronological order, for the last 3 years
A statement explaining briefly why you wish to be awarded the TDF Scholarship (maximum 500 words)
Education achievements at highest attained level and/or high school achievements
Process
Expressions of Interest are to be lodged by email to info@tkdqld.com by 5pm on 24 June 2011.
All submitted Expressions of Interest will be considered by a selection panel and a short list prepared. Athletes on the short list will be interviewed by the selection panel and advised of the decision. No appeal process is allowed. The scholarship recipients will be asked to sign a Code of Conduct and Liability Declaration prior to departure.
